EXTRACTION

There are a number of reasons someone may require a tooth extraction. Significant decay, tooth fracture, periodontal disease, or lack of space may lead to the dentist recommending you have a tooth pulled. The doctor will evaluate if extraction is necessary and may refer treatment to an oral surgeon when the complexity of the extraction would benefit from specialist care. While we usually try to save teeth, sometimes extraction is the best course of action. If you do have a tooth extracted, the doctor can talk with you about replacement options, including implants, bridges, and removable prostheses.
