CROWN
A crown is a permanent cap that goes over the original tooth once the tooth is prepared by the dentist. Crowns are often recommended to strengthen the tooth when it is fractured or there is too much decay for the tooth to be filled. We typically use a porcelain material for crowns, with the composition balanced for esthetics and strength. Gold is also sometimes used.
